It is perhaps the most difficult question I get during school awareness sessions on substance abuse, that deserves an honest answer.

This *World No To***co Day*, my article in *The Navhind Times* reflects on some uncomfortable realities:

❓ We speak of Nasha Mukt Bharat, but is ni****ne exempt?

❓ Why are vapes banned under PECA, yet easily available to school-going children?

❓ Why do we still see surrogate advertising of pan masala and to***co-linked brands despite knowing their influence on young minds?

❓ Why are products that burden our healthcare system still normalised through culture, commerce and weak enforcement?

The WHO theme this year is *"Unmasking the Appeal."*

Maybe it is also time to unmask our contradictions.

Because addiction is no longer being sold as a product.

It is being sold as a lifestyle.

Who benefits from addiction? And who pays the price?
