Not gonna lie… this sign had me doing a double take.

“ANY food orders must leave a minimum of a 30% tip or they will not be served.”

Not a suggestion.
Not optional.
Straight up required.

And at that point… is it even a tip anymore?

I always thought tipping was something you decide after the fact—based on the service you get. But when it’s required before you even sit down or get your food, it doesn’t really feel like appreciation anymore. It feels more like a built-in charge with a different label.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for workers being paid fairly—no argument there. But shouldn’t that already be baked into the menu prices instead of putting customers in this awkward spot?

Because once a “tip” becomes the price just to participate, it kind of loses its meaning. It’s not a bonus anymore—it’s just part of the bill. And calling it a tip at that point feels a little misleading.

I know this might sound harsh… but I’m honestly at my limit.
Every single morning it’s the same situation — soaked sheets, soaked mattress, everything. I can’t even start my day normally because I already know I’ve got laundry waiting for me first thing.
I’ve tried everything I can think of — cutting off drinks early, bathroom before bed, even waking him up in the middle of the night. Nothing sticks.
And what makes it harder is he just shrugs it off like it’s no big deal… while I’m the one dealing with it over and over again.
At this point, I’m done pretending it’s “just one of those things.” I’m putting waterproof covers on everything, and I can’t keep dropping everything every morning to deal with it immediately.
I get that accidents happen… but this has been going on for a long time now.
Be honest — would you keep handling it the same way, or start putting some boundaries in place?
