Intricate, beautiful and inspiring statues at Osian

Osian is about 70 km from Jodhpur. Dedicated to Maa Skandmata. First built in 87 AD, the temple is a gateway to the desert. Again rebuilt in 700 AD, this temple houses a deity that has caved in to the ground up till the bust. The deity resembles the dancing woman from Indus Valley Civilisation.

Deeg Palace is a must visit destination. Although you might not find any hotel in the village, it is still the most beautiful palaces in Rajasthan. It falls on the outer stretches of Braj, fabled for the antics of Lord Kirshna when he was a child.
The nearest places to stay are Bharatpur on the western side and Alwar on the East. When in Alwar, don't forget to buy Jaggery and milk cake and then visit Sariska
