10 Quick Tips That Will Help You Get Hired Fast
1. You should use advanced search options on job boards. All the major job boards (like Indeed.com, SimplyHired.com, CareerBuilder) have an “Advanced Search” option where you can search by keyword, location, a radius of a location, job title, company, type of job, date posted and other options.
2. Applying for every job you find is not always a good idea. Focus your search on jobs that you’re qualified for. You’ll have a better chance of getting selected for an interview. Sending out random resumes and cover letters is just going to be a waste of time.
3. You need a specific cover letter or your resume may not get looked at. You only have a few seconds to impress a hiring manager enough to select you for an interview. I know hiring managers who screen every application personally and they tell me that if you don’t show what you can do for the company in the first paragraph of your cover letter, you're not going to get an interview.
4. You should also target your resume to the job. It’s not just your cover letter. You resume should be edited and tweaked, so it’s as close a match to the job as possible.
5. Recruitment Agencies – There are numerous regional and international recruitment agencies operating in India. These recruitment firms provide workforce solution to leading companies. Get associated with any such firm and help yourself find a job in India. Beware of the fraudulent and heavy fees and choose wisely.
6. Dress like a successful person in your profession. Maybe appearances should not matter so much, but they do. The first few minutes of an interview are when you get to make that critical first impression. Be sure that you’re dressed appropriately for the type of job and company you’re applying to.
7. Be Yourself. Susan Heathfield, Human Resources expert, says that you need to be yourself. Rehearsed answers, fake smiles, and saying what you think the interview wants to hear instead of what you actually believe, mislead the employer.
8. Never say anything bad about a previous employer. When I was a hiring manager, I used to cringe when people badmouthed their boss.
9. Networking is an essential component of successful job hunting. Most jobs are still found by networking, whether it’s online or in-person. You never know who can help you find your next job unless you tell your connections that you’re job seeking.
10. References can make a big difference in getting hired. References are important, and employers check them. Get recommendations from bosses, co-workers, clients, subordinates, and suppliers.

10 Tips for Great Job Interviews
If you follow the 10 strategies mentioned below, you'll be as prepared as any candidate an interviewer has ever seen.
Good hunting, and good luck!
1. Research the industry and company
2. Clarify your "selling points" and the reasons you want the job.
Prepare to go into every interview with three to five key selling points in mind, such as what makes you the best candidate for the position. Have an example of each selling point prepared ("I have good communication skills)
3. Anticipate the interviewer's concerns and reservations.
4. Prepare for common interview questions.
5. Be concise in giving answers
Interviewers are busy so don't waste their time by waffling.
Short answers, focused on the needs of the job, help interviewers to get through their checklist, and allow time for probing of facts.
6. Line up your questions for the interviewer.
Come to the interview with some intelligent questions for the interviewer that demonstrate your knowledge of the company as well as your serious intent.
7. Score a success in the first five minutes.
Some studies indicate that interviewers make up their minds about candidates in the first five minutes of the interview – and then spend the rest of the interview looking for things to confirm that decision!
8. Think positive.
No one likes a complainer, so don't dwell on negative experiences during an interview.
9. Close on a positive note.
10. Speak the right body language.
Dress appropriately, make eye contact, give a firm handshake, have good posture, speak clearly, and don't wear perfume or cologne
