𝗔𝗜-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮
At the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, leaders from medicine, academia, startups, and global technology firms came together to examine how AI can reshape India’s healthcare systems, from villages to tertiary hospitals.

➤ Dr. Puneet Agarwal highlighted a critical gap:
“There is no holistic integrated AI model which is customized to Indian needs, which should even reach to villages. This is a big challenge We have to address it.”

➤ Dr Krithika Rangarajan shared AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi)’ approach:
“At AIIMS, we are trying to build a health foundation model. We need to begin by asking important questions, like identifying workflows, and answer them before designing AI models for healthcare.”

➤ Varun Dubey emphasized reducing clinician burden:
“At Superhealth, we have built AI systems that reduce excessive tasks and make things easier. We are building AI around surgical cases and recording surgeries to train data that usually does not exist. We have very few doctors compared to patients AI must help doctors get more time."

➤ Vikram Malhotra spoke about ecosystem partnerships:
“At Microsoft, we are investing in AI to solve healthcare problems. Language will take over. We are investing in large language models and working with startups and ecosystems to find solutions.”

➤ Dr. Rajesh Ranjan underlined AI’s role in public health planning:
“By using AI, we can work with weaker datasets, combine them with localized variables, activate systems in advance, and forecast and plan healthcare actions accordingly.”

The conversation reinforced that AI in healthcare must be contextual, interoperable, and built to strengthen frontline systems at scale.

AI for Her: Innovations to Address Women’s Health
At the Health of India Summit 2026, the “AI for Her” panel spotlighted how AI is beginning to reshape women’s healthcare — from diagnostics and radiology to reproductive health and IVF care.

Moderated by Mariyam Alavi, the discussion brought together experts from clinical medicine, health tech, research, and innovation to explore how technology can close long-standing gender gaps in care.

Panelists reflected on how AI is already being used across medical decision-making — often referenced through the 30–70 rule in areas like imaging and diagnostics — while also noting that the full potential of AI-driven interventions in women’s health is still unfolding.

The conversation emphasized the need to ensure these technologies are accurate, inclusive, and accessible, so innovation translates into better outcomes for women across different life stages and care settings.

At the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, this forward-looking panel explored how AI is reshaping medical education and what it means for the next generation of doctors.
Moderated by Dr. Shubnum Singh, the discussion brought together leaders from clinical care, AI research, and health skilling ecosystems to reflect on how learning, practice, and responsibility must evolve together.
Speakers emphasized that while students are increasingly comfortable using AI, almost as routinely as computers, the real need is to ensure pragmatic, ethical, and controlled use of these tools in clinical learning and decision-making.
As highlighted during the session, “The soul of AI is data. We have to be very careful with what the output of our results are by checking what data has been used by the system,” underscoring the importance of data quality, accountability, and critical thinking in AI-enabled education.
The conversation made it clear: preparing future doctors is not just about teaching technology, but about teaching judgment, responsibility, and context in an AI-powered healthcare world.
