“Handi Mutton is cooked in a clay utensil on a slow flame. This allows the meat to become soft and tender and allows it to absorb the flavours of the masala used. It needs patience but the taste is mesmerising. In the handi, the meat has the time to cook in it’s own juices and requires less oil. The Handi is sealed with dough, this is called Dum, and this ensures that steam stays inside the Handi. The end result is tasty, flavourful and full of nutrients!”

Born & brought up in an unconventional Bihari household with a food loving father and a mother known all across the city for her culinary magic, Sumita has cooking in her blood. Known for her hosting and cooking amongst her social circle, Sumita will be hosting an authentic Bihari feast perfect for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
