Good news for those opting for surrogacy:
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has issued a directive to all insurance companies to cover the cost of surrogacy under their health insurance policies. The move is expected to provide relief to those who opt for surrogacy as a means of having children.

IRDAI order stated that all health insurance policies must cover the cost of “treatment pertaining to infertility, including surrogacy”.
