With effect from 15.02.2020, new Public & Private Limited Companies and One Person Companies shall get registration number ESIC on the portal.

However, the above new companies will have to comply with the provisions ESI Act, 1948 when they reach the threshold limit of employment under the ESI Act.

If the company does not reach the threshold in six months, it has to login on to the ESIC website to further extend the ‘dormant’ mode. In case, it does not extend the same, the registration will automatically activate and the company has to start compliance under the ESIC Act.

If it is not followed by you/the employer, actions under the existing provisions of the ESI Act may be taken against the defaulting units.
