The Government of India is taking preventive measures to overcome the situation of power transmission line failures due to the falling of line towers in natural calamities such as earthquakes or cyclones. Aiming at that vision, Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) a laboratory-based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and a constituent of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), developed an indigenous technology named as Emergency Retrieval System (ERS). This ERS can help for the quick retrieval of transmission of power.
