दरवाज़े से बाहर जाने से पहले
अपने जूतों के तस्मे बाँधने के लिए मैं झुकता हूँ

रोटी का कौर तोड़ने और खाने के लिए
झुकता हूँ अपनी थाली पर

जेब से अचानक गिर गई क़लम या सिक्के को उठाने को
झुकता हूँ

झुकता हूँ लेकिन उस तरह नहीं
जैसे एक चापलूस की आत्मा झुकती है
किसी शक्तिशाली के सामने
जैसे लज्जित या अपमानित होकर झुकती हैं आँखें

झुकता हूँ
जैसे शब्दों को पढ़ने के लिए आँखें झुकती हैं
