A baby who was born twice.

A baby girl from Lewisville, Texas, has been "born" twice after she was taken out of her mother's womb for 20 minutes for life-saving surgery. At 16 weeks pregnant, Margaret Hawkins Boemer discovered her daughter, Lynlee Hope, had a tumour on her spine. The baby was taken out of womb, operated successfully and and was implanted again to the place. After the completion of 39 weeks,the baby was delivered naturally. It was Nigerian surgeon, Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye and Dr. Darrel Cass and their team, who performed the surgery.

What is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)?

IVF is a method of assisted reproductive technology (ART) in which eggs and s***m are combined outside the womb (uterus) in a specialized laboratory. If the egg fertilizes and begins cell division, the resulting embryo can be transferred into the woman's uterus where it will hopefully implant in the uterine lining and further develop to a healthy infant. It can also be frozen and saved for the future. IVF is currently the most effective form of assisted reproductive technology. The procedure can be done using a woman's own eggs and a partner's s***m, or s***m or eggs from a known or anonymous donor. Additionally, a gestational carrier/surrogate may be used to carry the pregnancy.

What should I avoid during IVF?

Eat healthy fats, such as avocado, extra-virgin olive oil, nuts, and seeds. Avoid red meat, sugar, refined grains, and other highly processed foods.
