At the recent Maruti Suzuki Flex-Fuel car rollout, Mr. Pittie highlighted the immense role biofuels play in transforming both India's macroeconomic landscape and its rural economy:

๐Ÿ”นThe Reality of Energy Dependency: India currently imports roughly 87% of its crude oil, costing an estimated โ‚น22 lakh crore annually. Moving toward an Aatmanirbhar framework is crucial given current geopolitical realities.

๐Ÿ”นSecuring the Rural Economy: Historically, the sugar industry faced immense challenges with pending farmer arrears. The ethanol blending initiative has given the industry a vital financial booster.

๐Ÿ”น99% Clearance: Thanks to this momentum, the sugar industry cleared nearly 99% of due farmer payments in the 2025โ€“26 season, directly driving rural prosperity.

True sustainability is an ecosystem effort. By prioritizing homegrown biofuels, we arenโ€™t just reducing our import bill, we are directly investing back into the hands of our farmers.
