Most balconies are actually built incorrectly.
The railing is fixed straight into the floor, and there’s no proper slope or drip edge. So instead of flowing out, rainwater starts travelling back toward the wall… and eventually seeps inside your home.

This one mistake leads to:

• damp patches near balcony doors
• swollen wood or tiles lifting
• hairline cracks
• long-term seepage issues

Here’s the fix we use in all our projects:
✔ Raise the railing slightly above the floor
✔ Give the balcony a proper outward slope
✔ Add a drip edge so water breaks and falls off
✔ Seal the railing base to stop water ingress
