Today, a group of 68 students from Bramhapuri Polytechnic visited the Bamboo Research and Training Centre (BRTC), Chichpalli, as part of their educational exposure visit. The visit aimed to provide the students with practical knowledge about bamboo-based technologies, sustainable development practices, and the wide range of research and training activities conducted at the centre.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the officials and staff of the centre. They were then taken on a guided tour of the campus, during which they received detailed information about various bamboo processing units, including bamboo treatment, seasoning, product manufacturing, and value-added bamboo applications.
The technical experts at BRTC explained the importance of bamboo as an eco-friendly and renewable resource, its potential for livelihood generation, and its role in environmental conservation. Students were particularly interested in learning about bamboo construction materials, furniture design, handicrafts, and innovative uses of bamboo in modern industries.
During the interactive session, the centre’s representatives also shared insights into the training programs, research projects, and government initiatives related to bamboo entrepreneurship and skill development. The students asked several questions about the machinery, product development process, and scope for startups in the bamboo sector — all of which were answered in detail by the experts.
The visit concluded with an encouraging message from the BRTC team, emphasizing that today’s youth can play a vital role in promoting sustainable materials like bamboo and contributing to India’s green economy. The students expressed their appreciation for the informative session and the hands-on learning experience they received during the visit.
