Barmer, Rajasthan

. Barmer is one of the administrative districts of Rajasthan located in the western part of Rajasthan. Presently the Barmer district is in news due to its large Oil basin. The British exploration company Cairn Energy has started the production in the year 2009 on the large scale. Mangala, Bhagyam and Aishwariya are the major oil fields in the district. And 20% oil of total production of oil in while India produced in Barmer. Cairn works in partnership with state owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). In March 2010, Cairn increased oil potential from this field to 6.5 billion barrels of oil – from an earlier estimate of 4 billion barrels. Also India’s leading electricity production from Lignite, JSW Energy has already its plant in Barmer for electricity production. And sonly many more industries going to start their operation in Barmer too. Barmer is fast growing city of India in upcoming future and many people’s from country and outsides are working here and this number will increase in near future.
