Both the Ola and Uber keep exploring new opportunities such as self-drive car rentals, corporate tie-ups and public transport collaborations to drive up ride numbers. They have often been found contesting against each other in their claims of owning a majority market share in the country.
India is an important market for both players. A lead control in the market can go a long way in boosting their business and expansion plan. India's biggest ride-hailing firm Ola countered American giant Uber's "carpet bombing" entry into the country with guerrilla warfare by going into nooks and corners.
