HOW TO AVOID CAVITIES IN CHILDREN???
A question often asked by all parents when they pay a visit to the dentist.
Here are some small changes and habits that we need to change, adapt and avoid for a better and healthier way of life.π€π€
Taking care of teeth starts from the time the child is born.
When the child has no teeth, but still you have to clean up their gum pads.. Here's how you can do that.
Take a guaze and wrap it around ur index finger and then damp it with warm water and then gently clean the child's gum pads . This helps in maintaining a healthy and clean oral environment. ππ
Another important aspect is brushing your child's teeth once their teeth erupts. This can be done using an Infant tooth brush or a finger brush.
Fluoride tooth pastes are preferred as they have the ability to protect the teeth and prevent cavities. The amount of tooth paste also matters, for children below 2 years of age a grain size of tooth paste is sufficient, while for children above 3 years a pea sized amount of tooth paste is sufficient.πͺ₯πͺ₯
Always make sure you supervise your child while they are brushing the teeth and brush twice daily
Avoiding sugary foods, juices ,candies and even milk just before going to bed should be avoided as they can cause more decay of teeth as the oral cavity PH reduces at night creating a acidic environment that is more favorable for bacterial activity.ππ©πͺπ«π₯β
As the proverb goes " A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE" .. make sure you visit your dentist once in 6 months for a check up.π
Hope that was helpful...ππSome THURSDAY THOUGHTS!!
Keep smiling ,it costs nothing!!πππ
