The word “Pashmina” comes from the Persian word “pashm,” meaning soft wool. These shawls are made from the fine undercoat of the Changthangi goat, found in the high-altitude regions of Ladakh. The extreme cold there helps produce ultra-fine wool, which is then hand-spun and woven by skilled Kashmiri artisans.
