Interesting Fact-
The term “Man Friday” comes from the classic novel Robinson Crusoe (1719) written by Daniel Defoe.
In the story, the main character Robinson Crusoe rescues a man from a group of hostile natives on a Friday, so he names him Friday.
Friday becomes Crusoe’s faithful servant, helper, and companion, always assisting him with survival tasks on the island.
Because of this, the name “Friday” later came to mean a loyal, dependable helper, which developed into the expression “Man Friday.
