Well, when it comes, it comes —
This is the second couple this week to come to me with a similar story, lone soldiers who gave everything, were injured and are now preparing for their wedding and need help.
and who are we to say no?

A. is a lone soldier who made Aliyah about a decade ago and served over 300 days in reserves with an elite IDF unit — until he was severely wounded in an IED attack that took the lives of four of his brothers-in-arms.

During his time in Israel, he met G., who also made Aliyah and came here out of pure Zionism and love for this country — and found a groom along the way.

After his injury, they got engaged and dreamed of getting married at the iconic Tower of David.
A dream anyone can understand — but one they had to give up on, once the financial reality became clear.

When dear Eilat, director of the Tower of David, reached out to me with their story —
of course, I immediately said: I do !

He made Aliyah.
He fought for us.
He gave his body — and lost friends who will never return.
Now it’s our turn to give back.

By the way, A. is already talking about returning to his unit once rehab is complete.
