"Throughout the work, the four performers repeatedly toy with the idea of transmuting thoughts into language; of expressing dance with words and vice versa; of making their inner and private dialects not only heard but understood by others — be it a dancer interpreting the choreographer’s score, a dancer reacting to a fellow dancer on stage or a dancer communicating her sensations and thoughts with the audience through words or movements."

We take a break from our regular programming to bring you this moment from The Israeli Society for Dance Research’s event yesterday- Independent Platforms for Designing Knowledge in Dance.
Creative Writing was honored to be presented alongside leading voices in the dance world and our esteemed colleagues. Here is CW founder and director Ori Lenkinski giving a glimpse into who writes on the site and what our motivation is.

“Everyone that writes for me, like I said before, are artists. There are people who live the dance world, live the studio, the stage, productions and understand what it means to create. They come with a lot of respect, experience, love and passion for dance. Each one comes with different knowledge, with her own entire world, with her own writing style. There is one writer who specializes in Eastern dance, and another who comes from visual art. Each writer brings her knowledge into what she reflects back, what she writes. I think that broadens the possibility for the reader to see their own experience of that same performance reflected back, whether it is a completely different experience or if it matches what they felt.”

On January 9, The Israeli Society for Dance Research is hosting “Independent Platforms for Shaping Knowledge in Dance,” and Creative Writing will be taking part.

The event will feature two panel discussions: the first focusing on the platforms themselves, and the second on style and strategy.

Creative Writing founder and director Ori Lenkinski will participate in both panels, and will be joined in the second panel by the brilliant Joy Bernard.

Creative Writing is honored to be presented alongside influential and innovative platforms in the local dance community.

KID'S CORNER and a very special offer!

"Everything about this production was thoughtfully designed and executed by Poda. A true Renaissance man. Accompanied by my 6 year old daughter, I felt so fortunate that this was her introduction to the magic realm of opera. I was charmed by her questions throughout the piece, especially “Ima, when will they stop singing?!” Poda made this ancient world of Carthage, shipwrecks, Gods and witches so sumptuous, the aesthetics alone could hold the attention of a young art lover."
