Earlier this month it was reported that Ford Motor Company received a patent to allow control of an autonomous vehicle by a smartphone or a tablet just like in a video game, using one of two types of interfaces (tilt or touch). This will surely come in handy during emergency situations while traveling in a pod lacking a steering wheel and pedals.
