Machon Shilo made headlines in April 2007 when its religious court ruled that Jews of European descent could eat "kitniyot" during the Passover holiday. Machon Shilo is a center of Jewish learning in Jerusalem dedicated to the exposition and dissemination of the Judaism of the Land of Israel, headed by Rabbi David Bar-Hayim.
