Moments ago the siren, signaling the start of Yom Hazikaron, Israel's Memorial Day, sounded throughout Israel. In this difficult, painful year, people wonder how to relate to Memorial Day - when the memories are so fresh and ongoing - and then how to celebrate Independence Day.

Our conversion class was honored yesterday with a visit from Rabbi Zvi Romm, Director of the RCA Beit Din in Manhattan, the largest conversion Beit Din in the United States. He and his wife stayed for the 2 classes and remarked afterwards "what a wonderful group of people. I am really impressed." He is correct. What a privilege to be associated with such wonderful people.
