From the 1930’s onwards most dwellings were of cavity wall construction. This means there is an inner and an outer wall with a cavity in between. This type of dwelling is suitable for cavity wall insulation. We will be NSAI approved to install Bonded Bead products. Cavity Wall Insulation with Bonded Bead is an expanded Polystyrene Bead which is injected into existing or newly built cavity walls with a bonding agent.
22mm holes are bored into the external walls of the building, they can also be drilled internally if required this method is commonly carried out on new builds.
A boroscope test is carried out to assess the suitability for cavity wall insulation.
Holes are approximately the size of a one euro coin.
Bead along with an adhesive are pumped under pressure into the cavity.
Cavity full fill is achieved every time.
Holes are filled with matching mortar.

The walls are warmer after insulation which in most cases results in the elimination of condensation.
Government figures state that for the majority of houses 35% of heat is lost through the walls. It is estimated that 66% of this can be saved by insulating the walls. This is an overall saving of 25%. The cost of insulating walls is recouped in less than three years from savings on heating bills. With the current grant scheme from SEAI some home owners can have up to 100% return in their first year depending on the size of their home.
Edenmore insulation will be approved by the SEAI & NSAI so grants can be applied for.
