What a beautiful frosty morning on Sunday. We didn't venture down the slippy icy hill on Windgate Road but after a ride to the beach it presented a great photo opportunity on the way back up, especially as I was riding my lovely Beauty for a change.

Went for a canter down at Red Rock - only to be confronted by a roaming herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle - we kept well away from their curious stares. Thanks to the walker who took the lovely photo of us together with her very well behaved dog.

What an absolutely gorgeous morning it was for riding today. And to make it even better I was greeted at the field by a chorus of bird song - starlings on the wire (dropping on my jeep!), curlews calling and swooping, a pheasant crossing the lane, a waterhen, hooded crows cawing, magpies strutting around, sparrows flitting through the hawthorn and even a robin made an appearance. It was just wonderful in warm sunshine. I forgot my phone so here are some bird photos courtesy of Wikipedia.
Curlews are near extinction in Ireland - listen to their call here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws7jH6wNKN4&ab_channel=betacygni
