MINDFULNESS in ACTION ... ❤
Every action we engage in is an opportunity to practice being present... when was the last time you remember brushing your teeth and being fully present in mind and body as you did so ??? ... next time you are about to brush your teeth ask yourself, "Where is my attention NOW?" ... Notice the minds churnings and pre-occupations in that moment and practice shifting your attention gently to the senses.... Become aware of the 'Direct Experience' of brushing your teeth.... and practice returning your attention to the senses again and again each time you notice your mind wanders off

🔸️ The colour of the toothbrush
🔸️ The light as it falls on the toothpaste
🔸️ The strength of the toothbrush bristles
🔸️ The sound of the toothpaste tube as you put it down
🔸️ The weight of the toothbrush in your hand
🔸️ The sound of the water running
🔸️ The smell of the toothpaste
🔸️ What the tongue is doing as you brush
🔸️ The feel of your feet and the surface texture they are in contact with
🔸️ The reflection of the light on the water
This is a practice... you are building your capacity to bring your attention into the present moment and to occupy this space for longer periods of time ... It is important to practice with an attitude of Non-judgement towards yourself.

MINDFULNESS AND THOUGHTS ... ❤
Practice alowing the mind to notice thoughts appearing and disappearing, rather than getting caught up and pre-occupied in the contents of your thoughts ... this allows a space to develop around thoughts and allows your attention to be present and available in each moment ... your attention becomes fresh and available rather than distracted and jaded.... practice and see what happens.
