A little bit of medical history!

This year marked 100 years since a Canadian surgeon named Frederick Banting paid a visit to scientist John Macleod on 7 November 1920 – a visit that was to lead to one of the biggest medical breakthroughs in history. In 2021, we’ll be celebrating 100 years since this incredible breakthrough - the discovery of insulin.

In the century since, insulin has saved the lives of millions of people living with diabetes. And the work of the team who discovered it – Banting, Macleod, Charles Best and James Collip - continues to inspire new breakthroughs today. Read more about their journey: http://orlo.uk/Fk0k6
