May this New Year rise like a crimson dawn, steady and luminous.
As we step into the Year of the Fire Horse, may courage find your spine, clarity light your path, and vitality move through you like warm sunlight after winter.
The Horse carries momentum, independence, and fierce heart. Fire adds brilliance, passion, and transformation. Together they whisper of bold beginnings, creative leaps, and the kind of strength that is both graceful and untamed.
May you emerge into this year with:
• Confidence that feels rooted, not rushed
• Passion guided by wisdom
• Freedom aligned with purpose
• Energy that renews rather than burns
May old embers become sacred warmth.
May new sparks become radiant vision.
May your steps be steady, your spirit bright, and your horizons wide.
Wishing you a blessed, courageous, and beautifully awakened Year of the Fire Horse.
Happy Lunar New Year. 🐎🔥✨

Happy 9th Birthday, Teddy!
A huge thank you to Marina and the amazing team at for the year I’ve had with my beautiful rescue boy, Teddy. 💛
One year ago today, Teddy was rescued, became a registered being with rights, and spent three months in your loving care before we met and he finally came home.
It’s been a journey of healing:
🌟 Time for him to recover from trauma and learn to trust again (pic3).
🌟 Time for his fur to grow back after his matted coat was shaved (pic2).
🌟 Pain meds to help him move comfortably (pic4).
🌟 Three months until he stopped trying to run away.
🌟 Six weeks before we finally heard his voice.
Teddy has taught me that love takes time. With wide-open spaces, patience, countless sausages, and all the love in the world, Teddy realised he was safe. 💕
After six months, he leaned in for his first cuddles and even started to play. Now, he enjoys quiet days, weekly showers (not so much brushing 😅), and dog school if I’m not working. Most importantly, he’s always got an adult at home and plenty of safe space when he needs it.
Today, he is deeply loved by our whole family. 🐕 😍 Thank you for giving Teddy the chance to live the life every dog deserves.
Thanks to his Auntie Dee for the card 😍

Late Summer is a season many of us forget. We rush from the brightness of midsummer into the cool winds of autumn, overlooking this gentle golden pause – the season of the Earth Element in Oriental Medicine.
The Earth Element is associated with:
Nourishment & Digestion – both of food and of life experience.
Stability & Balance – being centred and grounded, rather than pulled in every direction.
Care & Compassion – the ability to give and receive support with ease.
When the Earth Element is strong, we feel steady, well-nourished, and connected.
When it is out of balance, we may notice overthinking, worry, fatigue, digestive upset, or feeling ungrounded.
If you’re feeling tired, anxious, or stuck in your head, Late Summer is the perfect time to reconnect with Earth energy.
Eat warm, seasonal foods – root vegetables, grains, soups, and lightly cooked meals nourish the digestive system.
Practice mindful eating – slow down, chew well, and savour each bite.
Spend time in nature – grounding yourself by the sea, in the fields, gardens, or woodland paths.
Gentle acupressure, tapping and meditation – bringing awareness back to your body’s centre.
If you’d like to explore acupuncture or acupressure for grounding, digestion, and emotional balance, DM or follow the link.

For too long, we have been told that the number on a weighing scale is the single most important marker of health. Skinny meant “good,” bigger meant “bad,” and weight became the yardstick of worth, health, and beauty.
But here’s the truth: weight is not a destiny, it’s a symptom. It is one of many signals your body sends, influenced by hormones, muscle mass, stress, sleep, diet, and environment. Reducing a human being to a number on a scale is not only outdated—it’s dangerous.
The Obsession with Skinny is Outdated
Being “skinny” is not the same as being healthy.
Thin bodies can carry high levels of inflammation, poor muscle tone, or weak bones.
Obsession with weight alone fuels eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and yo-yo dieting—proven to damage both mental and physical health.
Health is not a clothing size. It’s resilience, strength, balance, and the ability to thrive in daily life and into old age.
Longevity: Build Muscle, Not Just Shrink Fat
Modern research on longevity and healthy ageing shows that:
Muscle is protective. After age 30, we naturally lose muscle mass unless we actively build and maintain it.
Strength training (weights, resistance bands, bodyweight work) reduces risk of falls, fractures, metabolic disorders, and even dementia.
Protein is essential. Most people—especially women—undereat protein. Prioritising protein supports muscle repair, immune health, hormone balance, and steady energy.
The goal is not to “shrink” but to build strength and capacity. A strong body equals freedom, resilience, and vitality.
Balance Beyond the Gym
Health is not just about lifting weights or counting macros. It’s about balance:
Movement – regular strength training, walking, mobility.
Nutrition – colourful seasonal foods, with protein at the centre.
Rest – deep, restorative sleep.
Mindset – reducing stress and obsessive thinking.
Community – sharing meals, laughter, and connection.
When these align, the body finds its natural set point—not through punishment, but through nourishment.
The Five Elements Perspective
From the lens of Oriental Medicine, health is a dynamic balance of the Five Elements:
Wood (Growth & Movement): Resilience, flexibility, vision. Supports the drive to exercise and plan.
Fire (Joy & Circulation): Connection, laughter, and passion. Reminds us health is not a solo journey.
Earth (Nourishment & Stability): Digestion, balance, and the ability to feel at home in our bodies.
Metal (Breath & Boundaries): Lungs, skin, immune strength. Helps us let go of toxic perfectionism.
Water (Reserves & Wisdom): Kidneys, bones, longevity. Protects our deep resources for the long haul.
When one element dominates or depletes, imbalance shows up—whether as fatigue, digestive upset, hormone swings, or yes, weight fluctuations. But the body is never broken; it’s signalling. Weight is only one voice among many.
Reclaiming Health
Let’s smash the myth: you are not your weight.
You are your strength, your resilience, your creativity, your capacity for joy.
You are the meals you share, the miles you walk, the laughter that strengthens your heart.
You are the balance of elements within, always shifting, always seeking harmony.
True health comes when we stop chasing a number and start building a body and life that feel sustainable, strong, and free.
A New Mantra for Health
✨ Weight is a symptom, not a destiny.
✨ Strong is the foundation for longevity.
✨ Balance, not obsession, is the path forward.
