Steven lived for a number of years between London, Milan, Rome and Eastern Europe. During his time in Europe, Steven began to develop a variety of different styles of portraiture. Steven stresses that the “The photographer brings to his work his own individual photographic style and passion. These things, combined with a devoted and compassionate attention to his subject, produce results that can be little less than revelations.”

“I shoot a person in such a way as to allow them both to see themselves as the world sees them, and also in such a way as to let them see themselves at their best. I tend to concentrate on facial expressions to reveal the subject’s inherent sensuality and sensitivity.| I see myself chiefly as a portrait photographer.”

Steven has exhibited in Dublin and in Bucharest, and has recently been invited to exhibit in Milan and London.He has an extensive work portfolio. This ranges widely from the world of high fashion to gritty photo journalism; in that latter respect, his photographic record of the lives of the street children of Bucharest and the ravages on them of the HIV/AIDS epidemic are eloquent illustrations of some of his darker and unflinching themes. On an entirely different level, in the realm of popular culture, Steven has produced fashion portraits for top Irish designer Claire Garvey, for drag stars like Panti, Bunny ,Veda Beau Reeves, Shirley Temple Bar, Lady Portia de Monte, and for singing stars such as model, singer, actress Grace Jones, Erica Gimpel (alias Coco Hernandez from the TV series The Kids from Fame) , singer songwriter Suzanne Vega, and Irish jazz and blues singer Mary Coughlan.
