NTA Forum this Thursday

Notice sent in by Councillor Deirdre Conroy

Reminder to register for your resident group to attend nta forum this thursday 17th October, 7pm at hilton hotel. Please share with resident groups who do not receive information directly from NTA.

from NTA:

The rescheduled Community Forum meeting for the Rathfarnham to City Centre Core Bus Corridor will now take place on Thursday 17th October at 7pm in the Hilton Hotel, Charlemont.

The purpose of this second meeting of the Community Forum is to provide an update on work-in-progress for each of the proposed Core Bus Corridors. At the Forum meeting we will provide an overview of the following:

1. Summary of Key Issues from the Submissions made from the BusConnects Infrastructure Public Consultation;
2. And to present Indications of Key Changes being considered to the Core Bus Corridor Proposals;

This meeting is being held in advance of the second round of public consultation, which will take place later this year so it is important to note that the proposals and designs that will be presented at the meeting are still in draft status.

It will be after the second round of public consultation that the finalisation of the preferred route for each core bus corridor will be made. We anticipate the submission of the statutory planning application will then be made to An Bord Pleanála during mid-2020.

We look forward to seeing you at the forum.

Regards,
BusConnects Team

Culture Night Without Clocking Up Miles

This coming Friday, 20th Sept, is Culture Night and there are some really interesting events taking place in this neck of the woods
In fact, if you don’t feel like travelling the length and breadth of the city, Cathal Brugha Barracks is hosting an event-packed evening that will keep you busy. It includes music from the Army no. 1 Band (6.15pm), Rathfarnham Ukulele Group (8pm); lectures from Comdt. Lar Joyce on ‘Weapons of the War of Independence’ and Dr Medb Ruane on ‘Kitty Kiernan: Love in the Time of Trauma’; art exhibitions by Margaret Fitzgibbon and Sheila Melvin; tours of the Military Archive at 5.30 6.30 and 7.30pm, and small arms and equipment displays.
If, however, you want to move a little further into town, ‘Little Jerusalem’: a jewish history tour of Portobello, a once thriving Jewish quarter, with historian Alexander Vard sounds interesting. Meet outside the Bretzel Bakery, Lennox St, Portobello at 5.30pm or 7.30pm. 1 hour duration.
And that will suit many as the Bretzel is hosting talks about the development of sourdough culture from earliest times and offering a take away sample of starter culture to those who want to bake their own bread at home. Time: 5.30pm to 9.30pm
The MART Gallery and Studios will also be hosting a series of public live art performances curated by Livestock between 5pm - 8pm
