Two weeks ago on Wednesday May 12th, the Social Democrat’s abortion bill was defeated in the Dáil by a significant margin — 85 votes to 30. This bill sought to scrap the 3-day waiting period before an abortion, and expand the grounds for late term abortions. However, Sinn Fein is also proposing another similar bill in the weeks to come.
