Involve - Ireland

Last month we had two very important events in the lifetime of the Involve project. The first was a meeting between Involve Co-Researchers and key stakeholders including policy-makers, a TD and a Dublin City Councillor. At this meeting the findings and recommendations from the research were shared and discussed. Further discussions are planned in relation to the piloting of one specific recommendation to enhance support for parents in homeless accommodation. The second event was the launch of a research report entitled Lone Parents and Homelessness: interactions and experience with public services. This research was based on interviews with 19 participants of the Involve project and 10 key stakeholders.

We were delighted to attend the Treoir event yesterday to highlight family homelessness. Amongst the many interesting contributions, Dr Sarah Sheridan presented key findings from interviews she undertook with participants of Involve. It was great to share our work with fellow advocates in the sector. Thanks Treoir - informing unmarried parents and those involved with them
