Nine people are heading to trial in the Czech Republic, accused of luring young women with fake modelling offers before coercing them into producing po*******hy under the Czech Casting label.
Prosecutors allege the scheme operated for several years, with women pressured into signing agreements they did not fully understand before being subjected to escalating exploitation. Authorities say many experienced lasting psychological harm, and hundreds of women may have been affected.
This case is a reminder that exploitation is often disguised as opportunity. Recruitment through modelling offers, manipulation, coercion and abuse of vulnerability remain common tactics used by those who profit from s*xual exploitation, and these same dynamics are not confined to traditional production. Platforms that present themselves as offering independence and control can obscure similar patterns of financial pressure and coerced consent.
Survivors deserve protection, specialist support and access to justice.
