Dublin has lost a Diamond.
Carmel Cooper kennedy (RIP) played with the great CIE Club. The gifted Goalkeeper won two Senior Camogie All Ireland’s in 1957 and 1958.

Carmel went on to become involved with the St John of God School in Artane, who were the first Dublin Team to win a Senior All Ireland medal. Her daughter Ann was on this team.

Carmel aslo served as PRO for Dublin Camogie.

In 2013 Carmel was added to the Dublin Camogie Hall of Fame list.

The death has occurred of Carmel COOPER (née Kennedy)
St. John's Court, Artane, Dublin / Inchicore, Dublin

Cooper (nee Kennedy) Carmel, late of St. John's Court, Artane & Inchicore, beloved mother of Gary, Ann & Brian & loving Nanny of the late Keith & her late husband Richard. Sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren Sarah, Sean, Orla, Gavin, Cian, Ronan, Cormac, Aoibhinn, Muireann & Sadhbh, great-grandson Jamie, brothers Frankie, Patsy & Gerard, sisters Maura & Rita, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, her best friend Kathleen, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace



Reposing at her daughter Ann's residence in Beaumont Woods on Tuesday evening from 6 o'clock onwards. Removal on Wednesday morning to Church of the Nativity of Our Lord, Beaumont arriving for 12 noon Mass. Funeral immediately after Mass to Fingal Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Pieta House.
