ter life. Despite the introduction of a substantially revised and expanded Primary School Science Curriculum (PSSC) in 1998, the amount of instructional time allocated to science within the curriculum is shockingly insufficient, averaging at one hour per week. Our aims are:
To promote a Culture of Science in the local community; and
To culture a new generation of young scientists who appreciate the beauty of Science and are able to think analytically as real problem solvers. At Science Culture, we believe in teaching and learning science scientifically. While our courses closely adhere to the PSSC, we feel very strongly that science should be learnt from a dynamic and contextual perspective, which means that our course materials are developed with the emphasis on capturing the innate curiosity of children and helping them understand not just the content, but the nature of science by engaging in hands on activities and discursive discussions. We hope the learning experience that the children have at Science Culture is an enjoyable and fruitful one.
