You’ve hired someone. Their start date is the second week of July. ☀️
By their first Friday, half your team will be on annual leave.
Summer hires are at the highest risk of a bad first impression, not because the company isn’t trying, but because the company is barely there.
The fix isn’t complicated. Build out their first three weeks of meetings before they start, not after.
Assign one primary point of contact who isn’t going on holiday until September (new starters need one face, not five). And get something real on their plate by week three.
A month of reading documents builds nothing except second thoughts about the role.
