How cute is Harvey. Bit late posting but Harvey had a park session where we worked on understanding body language, recall with distraction and how to approach other dogs while keeping your dog safe. Its so important to understand dogs body language as well as your own so you know when to take your dog away from a situation š

AN EASY FOOD TO SHARE FROM THE FRIDGE: A SUPERFOOD FOR DOGSš¶, THE ALMIGHTY EGGš„ AKA NATUREāS MULTIVITAMIN!
When sourcing the perfect longevity snack for your dog, the humble eggš„ should be at the top of your list! If there was such a thing as a perfect food for pets, it would be eggs. They are rich in bioavailable amino acids, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals while being relatively low in calories and carbs. Whether from chickenš, quail, or ducksš¦, eggs are natureās nutrition bombs!
Eggsš„ contain all ten essential amino acids needed to support effective muscle growth, recovery and maintenance. Eggs are also rich in choline, which is excellent for brain and skin health.š§
The fastest method is to offer them raw but you can also scramble, poach, soft-boil...however you want to cook your eggs, leave the butter, salt, pepper off and share a bite of your eggs with your dog! You can also boil them, peel, slice and dehydrate for a healthy "choline crisp" dog treat! š
When choosing eggs, try and go for pastured, free-range eggs to get the most nutrients. One egg is about seventy calories.

Day out with Daisy šā𦺠Daisy's owners were having a small party and the people may overwhelm daisy so being the responsible puppy owners, I took her for a big adventure up the hills to get her out of the crowd š She had such a blast, we got to practice our recall, eye contact and even a stay (for the pics obviously š¤£)

I always recommend investigating the āroot causeā of any behaviours you donāt want.
Hereās some examples:
Is your puppy biting the children because heās teething and overwhelmed and needs more calm time with lovely cool chews in a quiet area?
Is your dog jumping up on people because they are a little bit anxious and itās something to do with those nerves?
Or digging holes in the garden because they are bored silly and gives them something to do if their walks and mental enrichment isnāt quite right?
Or barking at people coming into the house because sheās super scared and is communicating her need for space?
You have three choices
1. Tolerate the behaviour, yes you can choose to live with it. But remember itās a choice youāve made directly or indirectly and donāt get mad when the dog does the thing youāve decided to tolerate. If you think the root cause may be fear or anxiety speak with a Clinical Behaviourist. And otherwise make sure itās not something thatās impacting neighbours or other people and dogs.
2. Manage the behaviour - you can manage most problem behaviours to stop them happening. Dog jumps on guests - put them in another room on arrival. Dog doesnāt come when called - keep them on a long line so they canāt run away. Dog steals food from dinner table - put them in their crate with a lickimat or kong with their meal and so onā¦
3. Train - you can train your dog to alternative behaviours. Teach them, engage their brains and help them figure out what you do want. Yelling, shouting, screaming isnāt dog training you might suppress a behaviour in the instance but only through fear and it probably wonāt generalise. People often ask me what way should they say the cue words we train and I always tell them it doesnāt matter. The word or sound will be trained and generalised and understood.
Whatever option you go with, ensure your dog or puppy is getting enough mental enrichment, lovely long calm sniffy walks and plenty of time and attention.
