Ah, what a spectacle! US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, standing tall next to Qatar's Prime Minister, confidently declared that the proposals from Hamas and the US are practically twins. Marwan Bishara, ever the keen observer, graciously pointed out that Hamas's proposal demands an end to Israel's siege—something the US's oh-so-similar plan conveniently overlooks. Why bother with minor details like lifting a siege, right?

But wait, there's more! Hamas suggested a permanent ceasefire, which sounds dreadfully final. The US, being ever so cautious, prefers a temporary one. Of course, any meaningful resolution hinges on Israel's approval. And who wouldn't trust Israel to readily agree to end a conflict they've been deeply committed to for decades?

Blinken assured everyone that Israel said "Yes" to the proposal. Yet, mysteriously, Netanyahu remains silent, not even a whisper of support for this grand resolution. Perhaps he's just shy. So, Mr. Blinken, the question remains: if Israel is so on board, why isn't Netanyahu waving the new Security Council resolution like a flag? Ah, diplomacy at its finest.
