Griffith Rovers

he founding Members were John Collins, Jim Collins, Sean Sliney, Richie Kelly and the late Frank Gallagher who all hailed from the Griffith Area and Reggie Compelli who came from Glasaree Road. Notable players who have worn the Red and Black are Dublin Gaelic Footballer Barney Rock former Shamrock Rovers and Chelsea stalwart Paddy Mulligan who for younger members you will see on TV 3 at 7am each morning , another irish International and Shamrock Rovers star John Keogh also played and managed the club, another famous celebrity was Brendan O’Carroll believe it or not who also played for Griffith Rovers. The club returned back to the AUL after spending a number of years in the LSL. Having returned the club has won a number of leagues and continues to grow season after season. Griffith Rovers have had a few esteemed Over 35s sides throughout the years and won many trophies along the way with some fine players pulling on the red and black over the past forty plus years. In 2021 the GR Over 35s went undefeated and won their Div 2 in the Amateur Football League.
