On this day in 1974, Kathrine Switzer won the New York City Marathon. Seven years previous, Jock Semple, the race manager, attempted to remove her bib number and didn’t want her to continue the race. Switzer finished both races and became a crusader for women’s sport by leading the fight to have the women’s marathon included in the Olympics.

Despite having already released “Angels and “Let Me Entertain You”, it wasn’t until this week back in 1998 that Robbie Williams finally hit the top of the singles chart with Millennium.��The song is based on Nancy Sinatra’s ‘You Only Live Twice” with Robbie Williams parodying James Bond in the music video.

And after rewatching the video, maybe Robbie Williams is the man to replace Daniel Craig after Craig’s final outing as 007 hits the cinemas at the end of this month?��Or maybe not…
