👨🍳👩🍳 Ingredients:
350 self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
3tbs caster sugar
175ml milk
1tbs vanilla
1 egg beaten for egg wash
Flour for dusting
Pinch of salt
👩🍳👨🍳Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 190 fan
- Add flour and baking powder to a bowl
- Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mix and rub it together with your fingertips to create a fine sand-like consistency.
- Stir in the caster sugar and add a pinch of salt
- Add the milk and vanilla and stir with a wooden spoon to combine the mixture. Don’t over mix.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and lightly knead for 30 seconds.
- Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to an inch in thickness.
- Cut out scones with a heart shaped cutter and place onto a lined baking sheet.
- Lightly beat an egg in a bowl and brush the egg over the top of the scones.
- Bake for 25 minutes until risen and golden!
