What is Lactate a Profile Test?
A Lactate Profile test is a test performed either on a bike or treadmill to determine your Lactate Threshold.The test comprises of a series of 5 to 8 stages in which power/pace is increased at a determined level. A mirco blood sample, heartrate and power/pace are measured and recorded at each stage.This gives us a full picture of your physiological changes during exercise and in turn gives us your Lactate Threshold, an

Why does Lactate Threshold matter?
Your Lactate Threshold (LT) is your upper heartrate limit of your sustainable efforts in training and competition.Once you have passed this point you're on borrowed time.The accumulation of blood lactate will hinder your muscles to contract and you will be forced to slow down or stop.Now, that is all the bad news out of the way, here comes the good stuff. By knowning your LT and having a training plan that trains you just below and at times above LT you can raise this treshold and more importantly increase power or pace at this level.
