TARMAC CHAMPIONSHIP KICKS OFF:::::::

This weekend sees the start of the 2019 Irish Tarmac Rally championship with the Galway International Rally.
Again local interest is high with Kilnamartyra man JJ Cremin in the hot seat with Bantrys Daniel Cronin in a Ford Fiesta R5 seeded at number 14. The pair are contesting the full Tarmac championship this year and will be fully focused on a title challenge. A large haul of championship points will be the aim for the first round for the crew.
In the national section of the rally, Ballyvourney man Cathal Quill will partner Milstreets Sean Moynihan in their Ford Es**rt Mk11 and are seeded at 69.

Best of luck to the lads! 👍🏻

Locals succeed on Cork 20! ::::::::::

The 2018 CB Tool Hire Cork 20 International Rally was another huge success for our local competitors here in Macroom!
Topping the times for the locals were Christy McCarthy & Gavin Sheehan in their Honda Civic who finished a powerful 12th Overall and claimed 1st in class 11F!! Next of the locals were Conan O’Riordan & Kevin Healy in their Peugeot 205 who finished an amazing 15th overall and 2nd in class 10 ahead of an array of more powerful cars! Coachfords Michael Forde and Jim Cunningham in their Talbot Sunbeam overcame mechanicals issues to climb back to 23rd overall and netted 2nd in Class 11R! On her first ever event, The flower of Macroom, Emma Nott kept her Ford Es**rt between the ditches on what was a very demanding event to claim 30th overall and the bonus of 2nd in Class9! Rounding Off the locals on the main-field section were Barry O’Brien & Declan Buttimer in their Honda Civic finishing 32nd Overall, an amazing result considering they had to change the engine during Saturday!

In the historic section local Navigator JJ Cremin guided George Cullen in their Ford Es**rt Mk11 to 2nd Overall in the historics to round off a very successful year for the crew!

In the Junior section of the rally, Clondrohids David Kelleher & Jack Corcoran in their newly acquired Honda Civic claimed 8th overall and finished their first ever event!

In the Sunday stages section of the rally there was great success as Local navigator Eamonn Creedon guided Pat O’Sullivan in their Honda Civic to 2nd Overall! Finishing 3rd overall in the Sunday stages section on his first event as a driver was William Lynch and Paul Downey in their Honda Civic, finishing ahead of 4th place friends, Simon Duggan & Eamonn Hayes in a identical Honda Civic! Finishing 7th in the Same section was Cyril Casey & Shane Casey in their Vauxhall Astra!

Overall a fantastic weekend for all of our crews!! Well done everyone! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
