As I enter my last few days of 39, I’ve been reflecting. Am I where I thought I’d be at this age? No. But I trust there’s a plan, even if I can’t see it all yet.

One thing I do know—aging is a privilege. Life has given me highs and lows, but it’s grief that’s shaped me most. These past few weeks, I’ve felt myself sinking into it again—and that’s okay. It’s okay to sit in the void. You don’t need to have it all figured out, whether you’re 21, 39, or 40+. Life isn’t linear.

My niece said, “Everyone seems to know their mission.” I told her, “Forget that s**t, love. I’m almost 40 and still healing, still learning.” Grief, change, even surprise detours—like unexpected things, new paths, or random opportunities—can change everything.

I didn’t plan to work in events or holistic healing. Yet here I am—and I love it.

So this is your reminder (and mine): whatever you’re feeling—sad, lost, scared—it’s okay. Sit with it. Trust the unfolding.
As my beautiful Uncle Jerry used to say:
“F**k ’em, love. Don’t worry about it.”
