It's always a pleasure to work with the .ie Youth Arts team at to introduce artivism and GCE on their Youth Arts Certificate course. The January weather didn't let us do the usual street art stuff, so we worked with mixed media to explore global citizenship and the SDGs. The group got in the flow and had good craic making giant awareness-raising posters. It was cool to see the different creative approaches they took and discuss ways to bring these processes in their own youth arts practice 💖

A highlight of our Creativity & Change course is when participants put their learning into action to create 'artivism toolkits' and facilitate one another in global citizenship education workshops.
This weekend saw rich critical explorations emerge through a feast of different creative approaches to global justice themes such as intersectionality, gender equality, hope in action for young activists, resisting the attention economy, peacemaking, fast fashion, political bodies, food systems and sovereignty for children through theatre, collage, games, music, poetry and more. Our participants are creative GCE geniuses, so watch out for offerings from them out in the real world.
