iNotices.ie | Death Notice Mary Kelly We regret to inform you of the recent death of Mary Kelly
If anyone knows a national journalist who could perhaps help our plight it would be great if you could tag him/her. We have a great story to tell and maybe it would get us a bit more attention. We intend to go down fighting. Our email is [email protected]
IMPORTANT - WE ARE CLOSING DOWN - PLEASE SHARE
I am so sad and sorry to announce that from today there will be no more deaths posted to our pages and the website will shut down within the next week. This has happened because we have run out of funding to keep the website going.
We would like to sincerely thank all of those funeral directors who signed up and supported our service and more importantly saw the benefits of using it. But unfortunately those funeral directors were in the minority as the majority could not see the benefit in our Death Notices Pages or else had trouble understanding the concept.
It was important for us to work with the funeral directors and therefore, we contacted the Irish Association of Funeral Directors to help us demonstrate to the funeral directors of all the benefits that come with using the service. Unfortunately the door was firmly shut in our face and they would not engage with us. This was very surprising to us as our concept worked so well and helped out bereaved families and the public and you would imagine that we would at least granted a meeting to explore the idea.
I would personally like to thank the six ladies from all over the country who worked with me on this for the past two years. Maeve from Carlow, Maureen from Down, Carol from Armagh, Bernie from Cork, Sharon from Dublin and Colette from Belfast. These ladies have worked with me for two years voluntarily to try and make this service work and I really want to thank all of them.
It is hard not to be angry about our service going offline as we believed it had served a great purpose. The public definitely wanted it as our pages have grown to over 250,000 followers organically in two years. I think that our service will be missed and we are so sorry to have to let down our followers. But due to lack of finances, it is out of our control. Could I ask if anyone has a notice of a family member on our pages and there are condolences on it, then I would ask you to save or print them before the website is taken offline in the next few days.
I would like to wish each and every one of you a happy new year. Kind regards. Paul
