We welcomed New Ross Celtic to the Kane Group Build Park on Friday evening in the BetXS Sheild Quarter final.

We knew this was going to be a battle with New Ross finishing top of Group C not losing a game.

Celtic on the other hand where looking for a repeat performance from the week before,and with a couple of changes due to players commitment's we needed to shuffle the pack.

Celtic where working hard and playing some really nice football in spells,and where unlucky not to score early on with some good chances not going our way however this didn't detour the lads.
The breakthrough came form a quick counter form our keeper who found our striker with a long ball our the top Lee was to strong for the defender putting the ball past the keeper to put Celtic 1up going into the break.

Second half
New Ross came out strong looking for a equaliser however Celtic where looking dangerous on the counter attack.With the weather being a factor Celtic made some changes and this paid off when a through ball form midfield found its way to Edwin Walker the midfielder made no mistake with superb finish putting Celtic 2 up.

With 18 minutes remaining New Ross grabbed a goal from what seemed to be offside.
We managed the remaining minutes well with our keeper Jason and defenders
Mac, Davey,Wolly Locky hardly putting a foot wrong all game.and the work rate of our midfield savi,red lad,tomo,garvey,edwin and hold up play form Lee plus sub Larry & Mackey.See us advance to the semi final BetXS Sheild⚽️
