🐙 Don't be misled! This is not a Mimic Octopus, it is the Mimic's close relative, the Wunderpus!
👀 Look carefully at the arms of the Wunderpus. The arms are banded but there is no white border running around the edge - a border which is unique to mimics and absent in wunderpus - it's the easiest way to tell the species apart.
🐙 Another way (but less reliable) is by colour. Wunderpus are more orangey-red whereas mimics tend to be darker and browner. Wunderpus also have longer eyestalks but this is tricky to see unless you have the two species together and can compare.
🐙 Are you missing our muck diving and critters? This week has been an incredible week for numerous crustacean species, frogfish (multiple species), nudibranchs, and octopus, including wunderpus, mimic, coconut, stary night, long arm and hairy!

🌋 Good morning from Two Fish Divers Lembeh! We had a grey start to the day but a wonderful view of the Dua Saudara Volcano that was shrouded in clouds. An hour later and we had bright blue skies again as we headed out on the dive boat!

🎥 Thank you for sharing! This beautiful video of a cowfish in the Lembeh Strait was captured on camera (phone!!) by our guest Shiqi Yang who was shooting with his Vevo smartphone in a Dive Volk underwater phone housing!
🤿 Cowfish are one of our favourite small fishes that we find in the Lembeh Strait and we spot both the long and short horn variations. Both species swim in a helicopter-like manner, stopping and hovering every now and then, before buzzing off again.
