Every year on 1st June, a public holiday is celebrated in Indonesia to mark the day on which the Pancasila was created.

The Pancasila, created by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno, is made up of five principles that describe the ideology of Indonesia as a nation before it gained Independence. You will often hear Indonesians repeating the five principles of the Pancasila on special occasions such as National Independence Day celebrations or flag-raising ceremonies.

We hope that everyone enjoys their daily events on this memorable day in Indonesian history.

Eid Al Adha, also known as Idul Adha in Indonesia, is an Islamic holiday that symbolizes faith, sacrifice, and charity.

To celebrate this holiday, Muslims in Indonesia gather in the mosque to pray and offer each other Eid greetings. Most Muslim families would then sacrifice a cow or sheep and divide its meat into three parts: one portion to give out to the poor, one to take home for the family, and one to share with friends and other relatives.

Happy Idul Adha! We hope this holiday brings you and your family peace, faith, and joy!

Meet one of our students, Pak Samudra Mount, better known to us as Pak Sam. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Pak Sam recently completed a rigorous two-week intensive Bahasa Indonesia course this April under the guidance of his instructors, Bu Arizka and Bu Nibros.

With an Indonesian mother, Pak Sam grew up hearing the language and was already familiar with everyday phrases. However, his goal was to move beyond "fundamental" Indonesian and master the standard, formal structures of the language. Having visited his extended family in Indonesia many times, his desire to connect more deeply with his heritage and culture became the driving force behind his studies.

“In class, Pak Sam is incredibly friendly, humble, and endlessly curious. He is a quick learner who grasps complex concepts with ease. While he occasionally encountered unfamiliar vocabulary or formal sentence structures, his adaptability and enthusiasm never wavered. His decision to spend his vacation time studying in Jakarta speaks volumes about his dedication to mastering the language. ” said his instructors.

We are glad to see your progress, Pak Sam! Thank you for choosing LSI to help you with your learning journey. We hope to have another opportunity to serve you as one of our students in the future.

Meet one of our most dedicated students from Japan! He enrolled with our 40 Lesson Hours - Online Package guided by two instructors, Bu Januarti and Bu Nibros, starting from 8 March 2026.

His primary motivation for learning Indonesian was for work purposes, but he also finds living in Indonesia very interesting. He stated that, as a fellow Asian, he didn't experience any significant difficulties learning the language, working with Indonesians, or enjoying Indonesian food.

“He frequently practices with his colleagues at work, so he has adapted well to the natural pace of Indonesian speakers. Despite his busy schedule, he always completes his homework and arrives in class early to ask questions or engage in small talk with his instructors. This makes the learning process more effective because he is prepared from the start,” said his instructors.

Furthermore, his ability to speak several foreign languages makes it easier for him to understand Indonesian and grasp the concepts taught more quickly. His enthusiasm, discipline, and consistency demonstrate his strong commitment to mastering Indonesian well, which will both support his work and enrich his life experiences in Indonesia.

Thank you for choosing us to be part of your journey. Your discipline is an inspiration to all language learners!
